Playgroup Captain

Hi! My name is Katie, and I’m so excited to join the team as the Playgroup Captain for FIT4MOM Richmond! I’m originally from Michigan and after some time abroad, I settled in Falls Church, Va where I met my husband and started my teaching career. I’ve been an elementary school educator for the past 10 years and have always had a passion for working with children and building strong communities. I’m a proud mom to my daughter, Adeline, who keeps me laughing and singing every day.

My husband and I moved to Richmond five years ago, and it didn’t take long to feel like home. I’ve seen firsthand how powerful community can be, especially in motherhood. After joining FIT4MOM last year, it reaffirmed my idea that every parent deserves a village where they feel supported and understood. I’m passionate about creating welcoming spaces where moms and kids can connect, grow, and build friendships.

When I’m not coordinating playgroups, you can usually find me singing, traveling, reading a good book, staying active, or soaking up all the sweet moments with Addie. I can’t wait to connect with you and your child and help make playgroup a highlight of your week!
