Motivational Mom of the Month - Savanna Davis

Hey there September! We hope that everyone is enjoying this lovely shift in weather and if you're like us, crossing your fingers that it's going to last! ;)

This month we're taking a moment to celebrate one of Our Village members.

Your Mom of the Month is - Davis!

Please join us in getting to know her a little bit better!

How did you find FIT4MOM Richmond and how long have you been a part of our village?

I found Fit4Mom on Facebook! I started back in October 2024!

What do you love most about being part of this community?

I love the community of moms. My family lives out of state so it has been awesome to have FIT4MOM as my local village! I’ve made such sweet connections. Working out and getting stronger postpartum has also been a lifesaver for my mental state!

Who are you a mom to?

I am a mom to my daughter, Hunter Nicole! She is 12m old.

What is your favorite thing about being a mom?

My favorite part about being a mom is watching my baby learn about all the things. Seeing the wonder in her eyes over the little things we tend to bypass as adults. I also love seeing her personality come out. Being a mom is my greatest accomplishment!

What two items would you take with you if you were shipwrecked on a deserted island where all your food and water needs were taken care of?

I would bring a fan because it is impossible for me to sleep or exist without a little breeze. And a fire starter for obvious reasons - lol

If you had a time machine, would you travel to the future or back to the past?

I would head back to the past! Before my time and modern society just to see what life was like. Maybe see a Dino and weird extinct plants!

How do you practice self-care?

My self care is meeting a close friend and getting our nails done, baby free, followed by some lunch. Or a nice hot shower with nobody bothering me. Hehe.

Where did you grow up and how did you end up in Richmond?

I grew up in Greensboro NC. I had a few series of unfortunate events and soul searching that led me to Richmond. Here I ended up meeting the people closest to me and decided to stay.

How did becoming a mother change you?

Being a mom has changed me so much. It’s taught me patience, selflessness, to enjoy the slow moments, and it has brought so much love into my life.

Are you a stay at home mom or do you work outside of the home?

I am lucky enough to be a stay at home momma! :)

What did you want to be when you grew up?

Growing up I wanted to be an astronaut and a veterinarian!

If you could choose one song to play every time you walked into a room for the rest of your life, what song would you choose and why?

All Along the Watchtower - Jimi Hendrix or Gild the Lily - Billy Strings depending on the weather lol

If your five-year-old self suddenly found themselves inhabiting your current body, what would they do first?

I’d definitely head straight to the pet store and by an absurd amount of hamsters and small critters. I was OBSESSED.

If we wanted to say hi, which classes can we find you attending?

You can come say hi to me during the week at any of the stroller classes!

Savanna, thank you for letting us get to know you a little better! I'm cracking up at the visual image I have of young Savanna surrounded by hundreds of hamsters & critters! Hahaha! It's giving Snow White ;)

To our readers - if you have mom that you think should be nominated as our next Mom of the Month be sure to let us know!
