Motivational Mom of the Month - Rebecca Cruikshank

Happy March! February was something wasn't it!? Snow, Share the Love Week, Mom Prom...so much happened in such a short month.

We're excited for Spring and all the fun things coming up including sharing more about our March Motivation Mom of the Month, Rebecca!

How did you find FIT4MOM Richmond and how long have you been a part of our village?

I found Fit4Mom through the RVA Moms Facebook page, and The West End Mom blog. I joined in May of 2024 during the Month of Mama!

What do you love most about being part of this community?

I love the community, and being able to talk to other moms about anything and everything baby; it really helped me in my early postpartum days. I also love all of the moms I have met- shout out to Alyssa, Charlotte, Maggie, and Becky!!

Who are you a mom to?

I have a 15 month old daughter named Willow.

What is your favorite thing about being a mom?

I love watching Willow learn every day, and how excited she is to learn!

What two items would you take with you if you were shipwrecked on a deserted island where all your food and water needs were taken care of?

Ok, I've thought about this a lot, and the first item is a pair of zip-off pants, and the second is a multi-tool to help me build something to get off the island!

If you had a time machine, would you travel to the future or back to the past?

I would travel back to the past and relive some memories with family.

How do you practice self-care?

A nice long bubble bath, skincare, hot tea, a snack, and a campy movie from the 2000s.

Where did you grow up and how did you end up in Richmond?

I grew up in Northern Virginia, moved to Richmond in 2011 to attend VCU, and never left! 14 years later, I'm still here!

How did becoming a mother change you?

I feel changed in every way possible. My heart is so big, and full of love for my daughter!

Are you a stay at home mom or do you work outside of the home?

I work part-time from home right now!

What is the last great book or television series you've read/watched?

This is Us, or The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

How did you meet your partner?

The short story is music trivia at Rare Olde Times. The long story is tinder. Ross and I will have been married for 5 years this November!

What did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be an actress so badly!

If you could choose one song to play every time you walked into a room for the rest of your life, what song would you choose and why?

Black Butterflies and Déjà Vu by The Maine

If your five-year-old self suddenly found themselves inhabiting your current body, what would they do first?

Probably go for a long drive, find a pool, and go swimming for hours!

If we wanted to say hi, which classes can we find you attending?

Willow and I attend Stroller Strides and Stroller Barre Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays!

Rebecca, I love your resourceful answer for the two items you would want if you were stranded on an island! We are so glad you found us on Facebook and became a part of Our Village! We always look forward to seeing you and Willow in class!
