Motivational Mom of the Month - Raven Stone

M A Y! The month of celebrating the most amazing mamas we know...and we know a lot of them!

This month we are showcasing one of our amazing moms, Raven! Please join us in getting to know her a little bit more!

How did you find FIT4MOM Richmond and how long have you been a part of our village?

I found Fit4mom on Instagram. Scrolling one day looking for fun things to do in a new area with my daughter.

What do you love most about being part of this community?

I love that everyone is so inviting and accepting. Tt’s great to be around such wonderful women. It’s also nice to come together even outside of our fitness classes, like the family nights or mom's day out.

Who are you a mom to?

Mom to Selah Grace (1). Best daughter in the world, but I might be a little biased. Haha

What is your favorite thing about being a mom?

The unconditional love exchange. My daughter loves freely & without prejudice . She just sees her momma doing her best and gives me all the love I forgot I deserve. That is the best feeling in the world.

Oh and the slobbery kisses are great too

What two items would you take with you if you were shipwrecked on a deserted island where all your food and water needs were taken care of?

Hmm , definitely a hammock and my iPad.

If you had a time machine, would you travel to the future or back to the past?

To the future for sure. I love to see how technology has changed the medical field. I imagine the advancements to be mind blowing.

How do you practice self-care?

Utilizing the word “No” & allowing that to be a complete sentence when it needs to be. Setting healthy boundaries have been my most recent way to practice self-care

Where did you grow up and how did you end up in Richmond?

I grew up mainly in Norfolk, VA. I moved to Richmond after separating from the Navy near DC. Just wanted to settle in a slower area.

How did becoming a mother change you?

It has changed my priorities and mindset. Becoming a mother has caused a chain reaction of selflessness in the best way possible.

What is the last great book or television series you've read/watched?

Last great book I read was The Four Agreements. I recommend it 100%!

What did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be a pharmacist for as long as i could remember.

If you could choose one song to play every time you walked into a room for the rest of your life, what song would you choose and why?

Wait on you by Maverick City Music and Elevation worship. This song means a lot to me. It’s a reminder that the Lord has everything I could ever need or want as long as i remain steadfast.

If your five-year-old self suddenly found themselves inhabiting your current body, what would they do first?

Five year old me would raid my hidden stash of chocolates in my pantry. And then head to my garage and raid my second hidden stash of treats. :)

Raven, first and foremost - thank you for your service in the United States Navy 👏👏👏 And you have every right to be biased because your daughter is adorable!

I love how you said setting boundaries and using the word NO as a complete sentence is a form of self care. I think we could all benefit from that mindset. I also love that you have not one, but two, secret chocolate stashes. A girls gotta do what a girls gotta do!

Thank you for sharing more about yourself. We are so glad you found us scrolling on Instagram and are now a part of Our Village. Happy Mother's Day!
