Motivational Mom of the Month - Kara Wingold

Happy July 4th! We hope your day is filled with festivities, friends and family! We're taking a moment to celebrate one of our FIT4MOM family members, Mom of the Month - Kara Wingold!

Please join us in getting to know her a little bit better!

How did you find FIT4MOM Richmond and how long have you been a part of our village?

I saw a Facebook ad for Fit4Mom in 2021 and became a client myself when my oldest son Carson, (who’s now 3) was born! Then even when I didn’t attend classes I kept up with the social media and happenings, and now I’m an instructor as of June 2025!

What do you love most about being part of this community?

What I love most about being apart of the F4M community is the genuine friendships that are made not just mom to mom, but kids to kids AND the other moms. You feel like the perks and benefits are never ending and life-lasting!

Who are you a mom to?

I’m mama to son Carson (3 years old), and daughter Lillian (4 months old)

What is your favorite thing about being a mom?

My favorite thing about being a mom is seeing my children fall in love with the life and family that surrounds them, and feeling that unbreakable, loving bond between kiddo & me!

What two items would you take with you if you were shipwrecked on a deserted island where all your food and water needs were taken care of?

Two items I would take with me if I shipwrecked on a deserted island would be a good, spicy book and a paint set!

If you had a time machine, would you travel to the future or back to the past?

If I had a time machine I would travel to the PAST way before my time.

How do you practice self-care?

I practice self care by attending any live music available to me and massages!

Where did you grow up and how did you end up in Richmond?

I grew up in Chesterfield, VA and actually live out in Midlothian in the Woodlake Community! I love my VCU years living in Richmond though. (:

How did becoming a mother change you?

Becoming a mother changed the pace at which I view the world. It’s slower, more patient, more intentional.

Are you a stay at home mom or do you work outside of the home?

I’m a SAHM who also works part-time!

What is the last great book or television series you've read/watched?

TV wise I would recommend Four Seasons on Netflix, it’s absolutely hilarious and relatable. Book wise, anything written by Tarryn Fisher.

How did you meet your partner?

I met my husband when I was 17 as a hostess at The Boathouse in Brandermill. He was 19 & the barback. The rest is history!

What did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be a counselor for kiddos or anything in the school system, I loved school!

If you could choose one song to play every time you walked into a room for the rest of your life, what song would you choose and why?

I would choose Electric Love by BØRNS because it always gives an uplifting vibe that makes you want to get up and dance, and I love feeling that anywhere I go. I want to give off the same energy!

If your five-year-old self suddenly found themselves inhabiting your current body, what would they do first?

My five year old self would probably add some sparkle to my current clothing, run outside and find the closest patch of woods to play pretend in.

If we wanted to say hi, which classes can we find you attending?

If you wanted to say hi, you can find me teaching Tuesday classes at Bryan Park and select Saturdays at Libbie Mill! (:

Kara, we love that you found your way back to us and are now an instructor! It's never too late to add more sparkle to your current clothing ;)
