What is your favorite thing about being a mom?
Watching my daughter experience anything and everything. She is amazing in every way. And I get to feel like a kid again alongside her.
What two items would you take with you if you were shipwrecked on a deserted island where all your food and water needs were taken care of?
iPad so I can watch Netflix and a bed!
If you had a time machine, would you travel to the future or back to the past?
This is a tough one but I’d say to the past. I’d want to let me know when I was a brand new mom to slow down and enjoy the chaos and change. Leave the laundry and dishes and take in the moments- the beautiful ones and the rough ones. The journey to motherhood will be difficult so take in every single moment because you won’t get another opportunity and that’s ok.
How do you practice self-care?
I’m a big believer that taking relaxing baths have some sort of healing powers. A book and a bath or yes an IPad with a cute movie and a bath. And now FIT4MOM working out helps me physically and mentally.
Where did you grow up and how did you end up in Richmond?
I grew up an hour south in Dinwiddie, VA. Richmond wasn’t a big leap but a good friend moved and I got a great first job out of college.
How did becoming a mother change you?
I officially wear my heart outside of my body. I love big and hard and has no idea just how much I could love until I had my girl. Having her even made my love for my husband, Wes, grow so much and I didn’t think I could love him more. It’s truly magic being her mom. And it’s not always an easy journey to motherhood
What is the last great book or television series you've read/watched?
I read a lot of contemporary romance because it’s usually cute and easy to read. With how heavy the news is I read as a distraction. I’m getting ready to start a Alyssa Kay Adams book called A Very Merry Bromance. It’s a series that I like. The time of year that it is all I’m watching right now are Christmas movies. The cheesier the better!!
How did you meet your partner?
We met at a bar downtown almost 19 years ago. We were babies…haha! He was at least. I’m 5 years older than my hubby.
