We hope back-to-school season has been going well for everyone! It's crazy that it's already September! It's a brand new month so you know what that means...a new Motivational Mom of the Month to love on! Join us in getting to know Alyssa better!

How did you find FIT4MOM Richmond and how long have you been a part of our village?

I was walking around Libby Mill and Kyra stopped me, asked if I wanted to join class, and I was instantly hooked! I think 6 months

What do you love most about being part of this community?

All the incredible mom friends I have made. Watching my daughter learn and make friends

Who are you a mom to?

Eleanor Grace “Ellie” who is 12 months old

What is your favorite thing about being a mom?

So far, it’s been watching my baby grow into this beautiful, silly, sweet, sassy little girl

What two items would you take with you if you were shipwrecked on a deserted island where all your food and water needs were taken care of?

My dogs and family so we can turn it into an extended vacation

If you had a time machine, would you travel to the future or back to the past?

Back to the past! I would love to see Planet Earth as one big national park basically

How do you practice self-care?

Acupuncture, being outdoors, reading, and mindfulness meditations.

Where did you grow up and how did you end up in Richmond?

Born and raised Richmonder!

How did becoming a mother change you?

It feels like in every way possible! But the biggest is I am just constantly filled with this overwhelming sense of love now.

What is the last great book or television series you've read/watched?

A Court of Thrones and Roses!

How did you meet your partner?

We met when we were 7 years old at the tuckahoe YMCA summer camp. We reconnected in 2015 down at Texas Beach on the James River.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

A mom

If you could choose one song to play every time you walked into a room for the rest of your life, what song would you choose and why?

“You’re my Best friend” by Queen because it makes me want to dance and reminds me of my dad.

If your five-year-old self suddenly found themselves inhabiting your current body, what would they do first?
