Motivational Mom of the Month - Stacey Gray

Happy April Mamas! This Motivational Mom has been with us for close to 2 years! She always has a smile on her face and is one of our most dedicated members to Stroller Strides! Join me in getting to know Stacey Gray a little better :)

How did you find FIT4MOM Richmond and how long have you been a part of our village? I started going to Stroller Strides when Robbie was 12 weeks old so almost two years now…I had just left my job as a school counselor to be a SAHM and was starting to go a little crazy feeling stuck in the house & adjusting to my new role as mom, so I googled “mommy and me” classes and found Fit4Mom Richmond!

What do you love most about being part of this community? There are SO many things I love about Fit4mom, but my favorite is the support from all the mommas. It’s so important to find your village- mommin’ aint always easy – and I wouldn’t survive without our village!

Who are you a mom to? I am a mom to Robbie, who just turned 2, and Reagan, who is 11 weeks old.

What is your favorite thing about being a mom? I absolutely love watching my kids learn something new. It makes me so happy to see their face light up when they accomplish something they’ve never done before.

Would you rather fight one horse-sized duck or one hundred duck-sized horses? One horse-sized duck…as long as its not flying or swimming because I think they’re slow, right? I could just throw it a loaf of bread and out run it??? LOL

How do you stay fit when you're not working out with FIT4MOM and how do you practice self-care? Does chasing around my two year old count? LOL I also started playing tennis last summer and I’m loving the “me” time that comes with it.

Where did you grow up and how did you end up in Richmond? I grew up here in Richmond (Midlo- born and raised). Spent 4 years in North Carolina at ECU and then came right back here when I graduated…

How did becoming a mother change you? Being a mom has made me become such a planner. I used to be so spontaneous and now I have to have routine!

What is the last great book or television series you've read/watched? I just read “I Heart My Little A-Holes” and it was hilarious!! I loved it and totally recommend it for a good laugh.

How did you meet your husband? We met at in college at ECU.

What did you want to be when you grew up? I wanted to be a teacher up until high school and then realized I actually wanted to be a school counselor!

If your five-year-old self suddenly found themselves inhabiting your current body, what would she do first? Eat all the chocolate and candy. I’ve always had a huge sweet tooth!

Did anyone else have an image in their head of Stacey throwing a loaf of bread and running away from a horse-sized duck!? Just me? And I think our 5 year old selves would definitely get along pigging out on candy!

Thank you Stacey for helping us get to know you better! We love having you, Robbie and Reagan in Our Village!
